The truth is, we still aren't 100% sure. Shawn had to work late that night and when he got home, he found it odd taht both dogs weren't there to greet him as they had been left in the house so long. Normally they wanna be let out right away. He let Chewy out and went to see if Barklee was in the bedroom. Turns out he was. He was already gone. Shawn says that there was some blood prtruding from his mouth when he found him lying in the bed, his head on Shawn's pillow.

I called the veterinary clinic we took him to to see if maybe the neutering was what caused it, but when I explained it to the vet- she said she didn't think that was the case at all. She said with the part about the blood and what not, she believed whole heartedly that it was a ruptured anneurism. Which unfortunately, all too often go undetected.

But on a happier note, the 5 puppies he made with Chewbacca Lynn are all well and growing fast! They've opened their eyes now and some are even growling and barking. Chewy lets us hold them from time to time, so often I am picking each one up and spending some time with them. I ahve two picked out, one of the "cow" looking pups which I have 2 names for. It will either be Maisie Mae or Sassy Mae. Maisie just sounds like a cows name, but damn if she isn't a fiesty, sassy little bitch. (Literally- pun was intended) And the other is a mostly black pup and looks more like Barklee. She has some beige growing in there now too though. His brotehrs had beige, but he never did. Anyways, I named her Portia. Haven;t come up with a middle name yet. Shawn says it's crazy to pick puppies we want yet since they're still developing personalities. He wants to get ones that have Barklee's spunk. So we'll see.

I ran errands for what seems like an eternity today and I am sore. So I will sign off for now. Again, thanks for your caring thoughts during our loss. You guys simply rock.
